About Us
Right now at TTU, SEAC is a relatively new student organization, set up to allow students to become active in changing environmental policy on campus.
Mission Statement
SEAC is a student and youth run national network of progressive organizations and individuals whose aim is to uproot environmental injustices through action and education. We define the environment to include the physical, economic, political, and cultural conditions in which we live. By challenging the power structure which threatens these conditions, students in SEAC work to create progressive social change on both the local and global levels.

TTU SEAC's Analogy
A university is analogous to a city, with its own political system, citizenry, and power. Like a city, the University also possesses a huge ecological footprint and tremendous purchasing power. The University has the ability to use this purchasing power to promote sustainability (which is defined as the ability to sustain a set of practices indefinitely) and reduce its environmental impacts. As the training ground of tomorrow's leaders and professionals, the University has the responsibility to use its power and influence to create a just, equitable, and sustainable society. Thus, Tennessee Tech should seek to promote sustainable development at its campus and throughout the region in order to provide a healthy, viable planet for future generations.
