Welcome to the Tennessee Tech University Percussion Studio Web Site!
Fall 2009 Classical and Pop Percussion Ensembles
At TTU, our goal is to develop the comprehensive percussionist. Students pass through a three-year curriculum that will enable him/her to have proficiency in orchestral and rudimental snare drum, timpani, mallets (two and four), accessory percussion, drum set, classical and jazz vibraphone and world percussion. The ultimate goal of the TTU Percussion Program is for our graduates to have the background to pursue any musical endeavor they wish. With the amount of study each percussionist receives in the variety of areas, he/she will be able to pursue any teaching/performing opportunity.
Besides private lessons, percussionists will participate in making music in large ensemble settings such as percussion ensemble, contemporary-pop percussion ensemble, marching band, concert bands, orchestra, jazz bands, as well as mixed instrument ensembles.
