Dear
advisors and members of Phi Alpha Theta:
Greetings
from the Kappa Tau chapter of Phi Alpha Theta!
We at Tennessee Tech want to extend to you a heartfelt invitation to
come join us for this year’s Tennessee Regional Phi Alpha Theta conference. We
are hosting the conference here in Cookeville on February 25, 2005. Since 2005 is also Kappa Tau’s fortieth
anniversary, we are pulling out all the stops for a memorable conference.
In
observance of African-American History Month, we are putting together a special
treat for attendees this year… Dr. Charles Robinson from the University of
Arkansas has agreed to be our Saturday luncheon speaker and will also be giving
a public presentation on Friday night.
Dr. Robinson is the author of Dangerous Liaisons: Sex and Love in the
Segregated South, as well as many articles on miscegenation and race
relations. He is a provocative speaker
with an engaging style, and he is also co-advisor for the Alpha chapter of Phi
Alpha Theta at the University of Arkansas.
In the following weeks, we will be sending you a map of
Cookeville and the TTU campus, along with suggestions for hotels, etc. If you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact me at 931-372-6254 or slaningham@tntech.edu
We look forward to seeing you!
Susan Laningham
