Types of Beta Beta
Beta Membership:
- Regular
Members - undergraduates who show great interest in biology and demonstrate
superior academic achievement. Lifetime.
- Associate
Members - undergraduates who are not eligible for regular membership.
Associates end their membership when they graduate or leave school
- Graduate
Members - graduate students currently in a biological science program
or teaching faculty on a campus where there is a local chapter. Lifetime.
- Honorary
Members - elected by the local chapter for significant contributions
to its program and by the national organization for outstanding service to
the society or biology. Lifetime.
- Alumni
Members - regular members who have graduated and want to continue
their contact and support. Annual.
- Corporate
Members - institutions or corporations with an interest in biology
and the TriBeta program. Annual.
Membership
Qualifications
To be a regular
member, one has to have completed three biology or wildlife and fishery science
classes with a 'B' average. We have gone back to participating in 3 service projects a semester and you need to attend 3 out of 4 meetings.
Membership
Fees
Every semester,
a $5.00 fee is collected from each member. This allows for refreshments and
any other expenses during that semester.
If one wishes
to become a Regular Member, there is a one-time fee of $45.00.
If one wishes
to become an Associate Member, the one-time fee is $35.00.
If the associate member wishes to become a regular member, he/she pays only
$10.00 more for a total of $45.00.
