The marketing club had a very successful fundraiser last night earning over two thousand dollars towards our trip to Orlando for the AMA conference. We far exceeded our original expectations thanks to everyone's help. The top salesman of the evening was Mrs. Tabatha Hamby with 35 completed credit card applications. The work was hard but everyone had fun. The club also delivered Valentines to a local nursing home today. The tenants were appreciative and really enjoyed all of the notes from everyone. Thanks to Tabatha for getting things together for the Valentines.

The marketing club, suffered a great loss today. Our advisor Dr. Otho Karl Mann passed away very suddenly today at University Medical Center in Lebanon, TN. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, any contributions be made to the Dr. Karl Mann Marketing Scholarship Fund, or to the Marketing Club. Dr. Mann will be sorely missed by all of his students for his humor, insight, and legitimate passion for his students. The marketing club will not be holding the car fundraiser tomorow instead we will be holding an emergency club meeting to sort things out and reminisce about Dr. Mann. The Marketing Club is holding their biggest fundraiser of the semester on Monday, February 13th. We have teamed up with CampusFundraiser.com and MTVU. The fundraiser will be held from 4:30 to 8:30pm. We need a minimum of 12 people to commit for this time slot. If we do not, then we will have to cancel the event and it discredits our university with this fundraising company.  If you are planning on going to conference, then this is the perfect opportunity to make money to help fund your trip. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can participate. If you have any questions or comments, please email:

The Marketing Club will be participating in a fundraiser this Thursday, February 2. Cumberland Toyota will be bringing a few vehicles to campus to promote their business. They will park the vehicles behind the UC at the Grill entrance from 10:50am – 12pm. We are helping Cumberland Toyota by handing out flyers and drawing people’s attention to the vehicles. We need Marketing Club members there the whole time. If you can’t participate the entire hour, please show up for the time you are available. Also, if you own one, please wear your Marketing Club t-shirt to this event. For more information contact: Tara Lawson

The TTU Marketing Club held its second community service activity of the semester, on Jere Whitson Ave. in Cookeville, Tn. The club partnered with the Cookeville Clean Commission’s "Adopt – A – Street Program" to remove litter from the 3/4 mile stretch of road. The weather was a bit cool but more than bearable for working hard cleaning things up. Those participating proceeded to the local Shoney’s for a warm breakfast after all the hard work. Special thanks to Tabatha Hamby for coordinating

The Tennessee Tech Marketing club participated in the TTU Child Development Laboratory’s annual trick or treat outing today. The club prepared and donated bags for each child to use during the event. Each bag contained a sample size toothpaste tube in fun flavors, in hopes of encouraging the children to maintain their dental hygiene at a time when so many sweets are readily available. The outing circled the main quad and various other buildings around campus where the children were given candy and treats by students, faculty, and staff. The weather was perfect and the children couldn’t have had more fun. The club participation was coordinated by our vice president of community service Mrs. Tabitha Hamby.
