History In 1851, we came on the scene... Alpha Delta Pi is the result of Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald's dream that she shared with her 5 closest friends - Ella Pierce Turner, Mary Evans Glass, Sophronia Woodruff Dews, Octavia Andrew Rush, and Elizabeth Williams Mitchell. We were founded on May 15, 1851 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, the first college in the world to allow women to receive degrees. We were the first secret society in the world for college women and we now have over 130 chapters that share the bond of being members of Alpha Delta Pi. Locally, we were found on Tennessee Technological University's campus first as Pi Omega. On April 3, 1968, we were chartered by Alpha Delta Pi becoming the first sorority on Tennessee Tech's campus! ![]() Pi Omega's first composite picture ![]() |
